Profile of motives is according to hierarchy of needs. Highest priority activity shows the predominant motive and leads to success. It should be significantly higher than the next.

Inputs through senses develop desire and ability; action follows. Repetition over years, develops corresponding ego and attitude. Everybody has five types of egos, but to varying degrees. Parent ego is of action (Rajas), Adult ego of intelligence (Satwa) and Child ego of inertia (Tamas). Nurturing Parent ego is like that of the mother and Critical Parent ego is like that of the father. Child ego consists of Natural Child ego and Adapted Child ego. Success depends on the profile of egos and the predominant ego.

‘Apt’ means suitable. Aptitude is from integration of reliable text, direct perception to develop skill and unbiased inference from cause-and-effect. Skill shows ‘how’; cause-and-effect shows ‘why’.

Concern for self means ambitious, for team means with Nurturing Parent ego and for task means with ‘Adult’ ego. By talent, one is predominantly activity, knowledge, management (service) or achievement oriented
