Client’s Brief to Designer for Concept Scheme

A client wants a feature because he thinks it will satisfy his need. However, he is better off by specifying the needs as basic functions and accompanying emotions. It helps to prepare a list of activities to work out the requirement of areas for rooms and their grouping.

He may refer to his ‘Attitude for success’ and ‘Art of living successfully’. Evaluation of alternative concept schemes is based on feasibility study for maximum benefit to cost and appropriate technology.

Wants are personal choices that satisfy emotional needs. These are personified in a product that the customer says he wants.

A function is to be performed to the level of satisfaction the customer expects and throughout the life of the product. The ultimate expectation out of any human effort is to ‘be happy’ always.
