Creativity by Developing Right Side of Brain

Development of the intuitive faculty is through the following: openness; belief before reason; playfulness; finding similarities, analogy or pattern; and feeling than sensing. It is by focusing on the concept than on the details, on experience than on theory, on goal than on the route, on uncommon than the usual, and on introspection for insight.

Creativity develops through a heightened awareness of the object. When an artist creates, he gives life into it by giving his everything into it. Different persons see an object from different perspectives and suggest different solutions. Likewise, it is necessary to see a problem as several alternative problems, find alternative solutions and then define the problem correctly. A creative mind tries to find answers apart from the obvious one. The approach is ‘what if … is the solution’ instead of ‘what is the solution’. A wholly new system is rare; innovation comes by providing the small missing link. It is by obtaining knowledge from an unrelated area and by seeing the analogy in a field thought to be unrelated.

An idea develops as a pattern of connections among the neurons in the brain. When repeated, the pathway is stored in the memory as a pattern. When triggered by a thought, mind recreates the image of the pattern. Meditation on an object with focus on the association of ideas develops intuition

Viewing opposites as two ends of the same idea helps to discover unity in diversity.

A creative mind seeks to transform one thing or a group of things into another. It is by taking these out of their usual context. It develops from unusual combination of skills. Multidisciplinary knowledge and skills help creativity. The solution does not come out when one is meditating but when all doubts have been cleared and the mind is at rest.
